IMG_0737I am a veterinary technician, although in the past, I have been many other things. I have worked at the same veterinary clinic since January of 2001. I love my job. Every day is different; some days are a serious challenge, some days remind you why you do this in the first place.

My problem is that I forget things. Huge chunks of my life have gone missing from my mental data banks. (Are they in there still, available through hypnosis? I like to think so.) I am writing this primarily as a diary, so I can remember what the heck I did last week, last month, or last year.

My husband has encouraged me to think more broadly, and address some of the medical, ethical, and social issues that are omnipresent in veterinary medicine. So that’s what I’m trying to do here. If this blog makes even one person think differently about veterinary medicine in general and the job of veterinary technician in particular, I will have succeeded.

One thing I should mention is that this site is my opinion, and only my opinion. I have some strong opinions, but that does not make them facts. Listen to your veterinary professionals when it comes to advice for your pets.
